The support and opportunities available here have played a key role in shaping my academic journey in STEM, particularly in mathematics and engineering. The sixth form has consistently encouraged me to explore my interests beyond the classroom and to build a strong foundation for my future aspirations.
Through the school’s support, I was able to complete valuable work experience during the Year 12 summer at Tuckers Consultancy Firm in One Canada Square. This opportunity significantly strengthened my personal statement and allowed me to gain hands-on experience within the engineering field, particularly through the use of CAD and DIAlux software. Applying my academic knowledge in a professional environment helped me develop both technical skills and confidence.
Harris Rainham Sixth Form has also provided enriching academic experiences through university trips, including a visit to Queen Mary University of London. There, I attended lectures on the mathematical spaghettification of a black hole and the physics behind particle acceleration at CERN, which deepened my enthusiasm for physics and exposed me to ideas well beyond the A-level syllabus.
In addition, the sixth form has supported me in running the STEM Society, which now takes place on Tuesdays. The society focuses on developing strong skills in STEM subjects—particularly mathematics—to help students gain an advantage in competitive A-level courses. Leading this society has allowed me to give back to the school community while developing leadership skills in an academically driven environment. Overall, Harris Rainham Sixth Form has provided the guidance, opportunities, and encouragement that have enabled me to grow academically and pursue my ambitions with confidence.
