I began my journey at Harris Rainham Sixth Form choosing to study A-Level Mathematics, Further
Mathematics and Economics because I have always been drawn to the challenge of analytical
subjects and the way they can be applied to real-world problems.
In my first set of mock exams, I achieved BCC. Although I knew I was capable of more, this was a
turning point for me. With the support and encouragement of my teachers at the sixth form, I
focused on strengthening my understanding of key concepts and developing more effective study
habits.
Throughout my time in sixth form, I benefited from high-quality teaching, academic guidance and
opportunities to explore my subjects beyond the classroom. Discussions about the real-world
applications of mathematics and economics deepened my interest in these fields and encouraged
me to think more critically about complex ideas. Additional support sessions also played an
important role in preparing me for university admissions assessments and helped me develop
stronger problem-solving and analytical skills.
The sixth form also supported me throughout the university application process, helping me
explore my options and prepare for interviews. Taking part in a mock university interview was
particularly valuable, as it gave me the opportunity to practise explaining my ideas clearly and
helped build my confidence when discussing academic topics.
With the support I received, my grades improved significantly. In my second set of mock exams, I
achieved AAA, and by my third set of exams I had progressed to A*AA. In my last set of mocks I achieved A*A*A. This transformation
reflects both the academic support provided by the sixth form and motivation I developed during
my time at Harris Rainham Sixth Form.
I am now incredibly proud to have received an offer to study Economics, Finance and Data
Science at Imperial College London and I feel well prepared for the challenges of university study.
Looking back, my time at Harris Rainham Sixth Form allowed me to grow both academically and
personally. The environment encouraged me to challenge myself, think critically and aim high. The
support from teachers and the opportunities to develop my skills played a crucial role in helping
me achieve my goals, and I will carry those lessons with me into the next stage of my education
